FAQs
Some of our most Frequently Asked Questions about going tandem paragliding in Zermatt.
1. How do I book a flight?
Bookings are made on our custom online reservation system. Click Book Now! to make your reservation:
You'll be asked when you want to fly, how many people and some basic information (age, finess, etc...). Complete your booking/reservation, you'll be asked for a valid credit card. Final payment happens after your flight is completed.
2. What kind of shoes should I wear?
Good shoes or mountain boots (depending on the time of year, we can have snow on our take-offs!).
If you need to borrow boots, please let us know when you book & your pilot will bring a pair for you. If you find that you need boots at the last minute, please give us a WhatsApp or call enough in advance.
Please don't show up to your flight unannounced in fashion/city shoes!!!
3. What clothes should I wear? Is it cold flying?
Dress appropriately for the time of year in the mountains of Zermatt. It can be hot & sunny in the summer months and quite cold in the winter.
Your pilot will have a "Flight Suit" (covers your clothes) to keep you warm while flying.
We will also provide you with warm gloves and a helmet.
Sunglasses (or your own prescription glasses) are recommended. We fly at about 35-40 kmh (22-25 mph) and the glasses help keep the wind out of your eyes.
4. Where do we meet for my flight?
It depends on the flight you book. We meet at the bottom of one of the three Zermatt lifts.
Once you complete your Booking Reservation, you will receive an Email with the specific meeting details. If you have a special request, please let us know in the Booking Note when you reserve.
5. How do I pay for my flight?
Your will be charged upon the completion of your flight (or upon late cancellations, see our Terms & Conditions for details: Cancellation )
The Online Booking system requires a valid Credit Card – this is just used for a security deposit (like when you book your hotel).
Each passenger will need to pay their pilot after the flight. This can be done with a Credit Card or Cash (Swiss France only please!).
If we are not able to fly, due to wind/weather – there is no charge to you from Swiss Paraglide (for the paragliding flight).
6. I've booked a flight with you, but what happens if the weather is bad?
Paragliding is highly weather dependent – especially due to the wind here in the big mountains of Zermatt.
If we are not able to fly because of weather (wind, clouds, rain/snow), then there is no charge to you from Swiss Paraglide &ndash: your credit card is Not charged until after your flight with us.
7. I'm scared of heights! Will I still be able to fly..?
Absolutely normal!
Some passengers are nervous before the start, thinking that paragliding is like Bungee-jumping or Sky-diving &ndash: it really isn't! Paragliding is usually very relaxed and almost every passenger that is nervous, once in the air, shouts out: "This is amazing – not scary at all!"
You should be excited, but not too scared/nervous.
8. What are the Age limits
If you are between the ages of 5 to 70 – and are reasonable fit, you will be able to fly as a passenger with us. ( See Pre-flight: Fitness & Age )
9. What are the weight limits?
We can take passengers up to 90kg flying. If you are heavier but very fit – feel free to contact us, we might be able to organize a lighter pilot and make an exception. ( See Pre-flight: Fitness & Age )

No. The lift ticket up the mountain is not included in the flight price. Some people aready have purchased Ski Passes or Peak Passes and don not need to buy a one-way ticket to the take-off area. ( See Pre-flight: Mountain Transport )
The price of the lift ticket depends on which take-off we are going to and also what time of year (they use "dynamic" pricing). Exact information can be found on the Zermatt Bergbahnen (Lift Company) website: Zermatt Bergbahnen
Unless we have informed you otherwise, please wait to purchase the lift ticket to the take-off area, until you have met your pilot. Otherwise you may find you have bought the wrong ticket (and they won't refund mistakes...)

Yes! Every passenger should have their own comprehensive accident insurance.
If you are from an EU country, then you are covered for paragliding by your standard health & accident insurance.
Swiss Paraglide Zermatt also has an extra layer of insurance protection, offered through the Swiss Paragliding Association (SHV-FSVL), that covers up to CHR 100'00.- in Switzerland (on top of your private insurance – this is an extra service we offer and is not meant to be your only insurance). See "Tandem"
14. What if I suffer from Motion sickness?
If you are sensitive to motion sickness, please let your pilot know before your flight! It's normally not a problem, but some people can a little queasy towards the end of their flight – nothing to be ashamed of, but keep your pilot informed as you fly, as they can fly more gently if they know.
For those that are very sensitve to motion, we reccomend taking a motion sickness pill at least an hour before your flight. Things are more fun if your tummy isn't unhappy.
